During her initial
examination, Taylor seemed happy and active. She was very curious
about lying down and getting adjusted. The examination and motion
palpation findings revealed a C1 left lateral fixation, anterior
superior occiput and posterior right sacrum. A drop piece board was
used to adjust the occiput.
After her fifth visit, Taylor's parents reported that she seemed
calmer and that they noticed improvements in her speech. She had
an improved ability to express her needs, instead of crying or
pointing to what she wanted. Taylor seemed to enjoy her visits,
which occurred twice a week. She soon began a routine of behavior
during each visit, which included taking off her shoes and socks
before being adjusted. By month three, Taylor's visits had been
reduced to once per week.
Taylor was consistently adjusted for six months. Unfortunately,
Taylor and her family moved out of the local area, however, she comes
in periodically for adjustments. I now see Taylor as very happy,
outgoing child. She is comfortably talking and asking questions when
she comes in. Her mother even reported that Taylor's teachers have
to give her incentives to not talk so much during class. Taylor's
parents are extremely happy with her progress and the care she is
receiving in my office. Although Taylor sometimes has trouble with
her comfort zone of routine patterns, her tantrums have significantly
diminished. Taylor does have a few hours of special classroom attention
at school, but she spends the majority of her day in a mainstream
classroom.
